Welcome to Edinburgh on the 19–21 October, 2027!

For its 🎉 40th edition 🎉, as part of the long-running BCS HCI conference series, the British Computer Society’s Interaction Specialist Group British HCI 2027 is coming to Edinburgh, Scotland, at Heriot-Watt University.

The conference not only celebrates HCI as a research field bridging technology and people, but also as diverse community of academics and practitioners across the UK and abroad. British HCI is the UK’s leading annual conference in Human-Computer Interaction, attracting a wide-ranging community of students, academics, researchers, and industry practitioners. Research topics span human-computer interaction, human factors, interaction and user experience design, explainable AI, data visualisation, information architecture, information systems, software engineering, and social and behavioural sciences (among others).

The conference is also the home of British HCI: a place to meet, share ideas, network, build collaborations, and learn from one another. It offers a welcoming environment for all members of the community, from early-career researchers to established leaders, to connect, contribute, and shape the future of HCI in the UK and beyond.
