Welcome to London on the 1–3 November, 2026!

Brunel University will be hosting BritCHI'26, the British Computer Society’s Interaction Specialist Group’s 39th Conference, as part of the long-running BCS HCI conference series.

The conference embraces and celebrates the broad nature of HCI, and seeks to grow and nurture the community across the UK and beyond. Although we welcome papers on any topic within HCI, our theme this year is Digital Bridges – exploring the digital connections and social impact that technology can make. BritCHI is the UK’s leading annual conference in human-computer interaction, attracting a wide-ranging community of academics, researchers, industry practitioners, including doctoral and masters students. Research topics span human-computer interaction, human factors, interaction and user experience design, explainable AI, information architecture, information systems, software engineering, and the social and behavioural sciences (among others).

The conference is also the home of British HCI: a place to meet, share ideas, network, build collaborations, and learn from one another. It offers a welcoming environment for all members of the community, from early-career researchers to established leaders, to connect, contribute, and shape the future of HCI in the UK and beyond.

Deadlines for the Full and Short Papers Submissions, proposals for Workshops and Masterclasses, Doctoral Consortium, and alt.britchi have all now passed, but there is still time to take participate in individual workshops, the Student Research Competition, and the Community Showcase. Please continue to submit!

So far, we have an amazing programme planned, with papers with 25 fantastic Full Papers, 13 provocative alt.britchi papers, 4 workshops and an exciting Masterclass. We’re still finalising Short Papers (notifications are out soon!), but anticipate around 40. We have attracted a huge number of submissions across all formats, allowing the track chairs to be highly selective. We are also proud to announce Keynotes from Dr Advait Sarkar (Microsoft Research) and Prof. Anne Roudaut (University of Bristol).

Papers will be indexed in the ACM Digital Library, and extended versions of the best submissions will be eligible for publication in a journal special issue - Interacting with Computers.
